Sunday meeting 4/26/09

IMPORTANT

Just so everyone is aware, we'll be meeting at the Anodyne on KK this session because Bucketworks is hosting a large event that will take up the whole of the facility. Therefore, we have to move for this meeting. If you guys have questions, let me know.

UpdateWe'll only be reading a story from Cathy. It is in the Current Stories section of the site.

We'll also be doing some discussion on character building.

Hope so see everyone there (and some new faces).

Sunday meeting 4/12/09

This upcoming Sunday we will be reviewing a piece by one of our new members, Ryan Kerr, entitled "Moving Forward", and an older story of mine called "Only Noise".

We already have one story for the next meeting in April, but we're waiting for one more. If you have a story you'd like to have critiqued, please do send it in.

Also, for those of you who have had work critiqued by the group, if you'd like to have it looked at again after having polished it some, please feel free to post it in the same story upload you had the original in (it allows you to upload more than one file) and distinguish it as a second draft or some other denotation, and then post a topic about it in the forums.

See everyone on Sunday.

Novel Group: First Meeting

Update: The meeting will be held at the Wauwatosa Public Library this week.

Attention MWW members! We plan to hold the first official Novelist Group meeting from 7-8pm on Tuesday, April 7th. This is a new group that will meet every other Tuesday, and it's open to anyone with interest in novel writing.

The basic format will be similar to the Sunday Short Story Group. For each meeting, we'll critique roughly a quarter of a given novel, give or take a meeting or two depending on length. From time to time, we'll also have some learning exercises about plot, characters, dialogue, etc. We won't be critiquing anything for the very first meeting; we'll simply be gauging people's participation, hammering out the details, and determining the first novel to edit. So, if you've written a novel you want reviewed or if you just want to immerse yourself in the art of novel writing, then we'll see you Tuesday, April 7th at 7pm!
