As we’ve been having some issues with uploads and permissions, etc., I would like to implement a temporary procedure to upload material for the group. If you have something you’d like to submit for either the short works or the novel groups, please email it as an .rtf or .doc to admin@milwaukeewritersworkshop.com. Please include your username in the email, as well as a preferred submissions date. We will look to upload works a week in advance of the group that it is being critiqued at, but we’ll accept any work with the intent to have it critiqued in the next 3 months.

Due to some new scheduling at my day job, I am going to have to readjust some things on the calendar for MWW. All Wednesday and Sunday activities will remain the same. Outside of this Saturday’s seminar, however, Saturday events and other evening events will be rescheduled. I will update the calendar as soon as possible once I determine when to hold the new events.

Meet Pat Laffery, author of Anno Domina, and one of the Milwaukee Writers Workshop’s veteran members. He will give a reading from his newly-published novel and field a Q&A afterwards with attendees.

Pat Lafferty will sit in on a reading of his novel at the Books & Booze Meetup group and field questions from those in attendance.

Jenny Wiegele – Editing & Publishing Intern

Jenny is an English Major with a Creative Writing emphasis and a Peace & Justice Minor. She hopes to pursue a career in copy editing and book publishing following her graduation from St. Norbert College in December 2012. She is eager to be a member of a community that helps so many writers develop their art.

Patricia Cole – Marketing and Promotions Intern

Patricia is a sophomore at UWM majoring in advertising and public relations in the JAMS Department. Her interest lies in consumer behavior, sales and promotions, event planning, and public relations. Patricia hopes to contribute to Milwaukee’s Writer’s Workshop brand by creating promotional material to help create a stronger brand presence throughtout the city of Milwaukee. Outside of interning at Milwaukee’s Writers Workshop Patricia is a songwriter, she has been offered numerous songwriting contracts by the age of 16 and had one of songs called “Miss you 2 Pieces” produced and published in Nashville, TN.
