WRITE CRITIQUE SUPPORT
The Milwaukee Writers Workshop has a single mission: we are a free, multi-faceted writers group for those of you who have made writing a part of your life. We focus on developing your craft, improving your material, and supporting your pursuit of publishing.
In order to achieve that goal we have three tenets: Write, Critique, Support. What does that mean?
Write
Through our bi-weekly workshops, we provide a solid environment for writers to bring their questions to the group in order to help them improve their work. We also have a variety of craft exercises and seminars that are geared towards improving not only a writer's skill in writing but in reading and interpretation.
Critique
Each session is focused on critiquing other writers' works. Why is this important? MWW feels like much is learned through the process of critique other's material because it teaches you two things: what's working in those works and what isn't. These critique sessions also help you as a reader how to look over material constructively, rather than critically.
Support
We want to see our writers published. Other workshops teach only the art of writing without teaching the business of writing. Publishing takes time, effort, and dedication, but with a support group to help with questions, concerns, and rejection, it makes it significantly easier.
So how can MWW help you? We look forward to seeing you at any one of our many sessions each month. Check out our calendar of events or register for a new account to receive our weekly email updates.
